Contemporary Floral Paintings
The Great British Flower Project
Caroline Hall spent the Summer of 2024 among the flowers at Lower Norton Flower Farm in Hampshire. Alison Coleman, who created the farm, is passionate about British flowers, and the polytunnel and flower beds are filled with a profusion of beautiful blooms.
This experience became the foundation of The Great British Flower Project, a body of British flower paintings inspired by the richness of British flora. These expressive floral artworks capture the colour, movement, and abundance of seasonal blooms, translating the energy of the flower farm into bold, contemporary floral paintings in oil. Working in expressive layers of oil paint, award-winning artist Caroline Hall captures the changing energy of native flora through bold brushwork, rich texture, and an instinctive use of colour.
