Aluminium has always been a surface I turn to for particular subjects. My first paintings on metal were done for an exhibition celebrating journies on London’s Circle Line. Only two paintings in this collection now remain. In recent years aluminium has become my go to for seascapes. I have gradually changed the way I work - using the bare metal as an extra colour on my palette and allowing it to become the main source of light. These seascapes celebrate a life sailing, swimming, surfing and walking along the beaches in Jersey and Cornwall. Tide lines, horizon lines, threatening skies, glimpses of waves are all depicted using palette knife, drill, sandpaper, cloth and brush, least of all.

Please contact me to arrange a commission as these are bespoke panels mounted on subframes so that they float on the wall.
