Stockbridge Down. Spring.
Oil on wood
22 x 26cm
In a natural wood trayframe
Stockbridge Down is my go to place to walk when I need to feel space. This particular morning I headed to the top of the down with the dog and realised it was actually too windy to sketch. After a bit of looking I found some bushes to shelter behind and plonked myself down on the grass to sketch out this small painting. Using my fingers and cloth I worked quickly to get a sense of the sky and those glorious Spring colours caught in patches of sunlight.
