The National Trust gardens of Mottisfont are very close to the village where I live. If I cycle along the narrow lane from Broughton to Mottisfont I am rewarded by views of fields, hills and sky that are so typical of Hampshire. This was painted in early Spring when the fields are brown but the trees and hills have a blue tinge.
