This painting was inspired by a walk between Christmas and New Year, after the first Covid lockdown, when the countryside around where I live was covered in hoar frost for 3 or 4 days. Intense cold that turned the trees, hills and sky all shades of white. I was too busy walking at that time to stop and paint one view so this is the landscape seen from many different places - trees, hills, ploughed fields, slotted together like a jigsaw.
